Question 1

Where can I buy fresh medjool dates near me?

Accepted Answer

Right here — Borrego Dates sells only through our website, direct from our family grove in Borrego Springs, San Diego County. No stores, no distributors, no middlemen. Local pickup is free in Carlsbad, CA, local delivery covers San Diego County, and every order shipped to a California address ships free — Los Angeles, San Francisco, and everywhere in between. We also distribute across Southern California and Arizona.

Question 2

Are your dates organic?

Accepted Answer

We grow our medjool dates without pesticides — well water, fertilizer, and a lot of hands-on attention. That's the whole input list. Organic-grown taste, family-farm care.

Question 3

Where do you deliver fresh dates in Southern California?

Accepted Answer

Everywhere. San Diego, Los Angeles, Orange County, the Inland Empire, Palm Springs, and every ZIP in California (90001–96162) gets free shipping, no minimum. Most orders arrive within 2–3 business days, packed the same week they were harvested.

Question 4

How are your palms watered?

Accepted Answer

Straight from our own desert well — pure aquifer water, no municipal supply, no agricultural runoff. The palms drink what the Borrego desert gives them, which is part of why the fruit tastes the way it does.

Question 5

How fresh are the dates when they arrive?

Accepted Answer

Every order is packed the same week it's harvested. Most orders arrive within 48–72 hours of coming off the tree.

Question 6

How should I store them?

Accepted Answer

Room temperature for 3–4 weeks, refrigerated for up to 6 months. They also freeze beautifully for a full year.

Question 7

Do you ship year-round?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Fresh medjool ships year-round; peak harvest arrives in the fall, with cold-stored stock available through the following summer.

Question 8

What's your shipping policy?

Accepted Answer

Free shipping applies to every order shipped to a California address (ZIP codes 90001–96162), with no minimum order and no cap. Standard delivery is 2–3 business days; expedited and next-day are available at checkout. Free shipping covers shipped orders only — it does not apply to local delivery or to addresses outside California. We also distribute to Arizona and other states: those orders are not eligible for free shipping and rates are calculated at checkout from your delivery ZIP, order weight, and shipping speed.

Question 9

Do I qualify for free shipping?

Accepted Answer

Free shipping is automatic if your delivery ZIP is in California (90001–96162) — enter your ZIP in the cart to confirm your rate. Exclusions: free shipping does not apply to local delivery (within 30 miles of Carlsbad, which is a flat $15 fee), to local pickup (free, but picked up in Carlsbad, CA), or to any address outside California. For Arizona and all other states, shipping is calculated at checkout.
